Biography
Thomas earned his undergraduate and doctorate of optometry degrees from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He then earned his fellowship in binocular vision from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He has served on the examination and executive boards for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He was the speaker chairman for a major vision conference and has served on numerous committees that presently include a director position on the See the Future Scholarship Committee.
Thomas has worked with many professional and amateur athletes over the past 20 years. Specifically, he has worked with the United States Air Force Academy Athletic Association, the University of Colorado Ski Team, and the United States Olympic Shooting Team. He currently runs a SportsVision clinic in Colorado Springs and consults widely on the subject of SportsVision. He is active in many sports and has coached competitive soccer, baseball, and basketball.

He specializes in improving visualization, focusing, eye movement, eye-hand coordination, as well as vision and balance activities. He provides a wide variety of activities to improve the athlete’s performance through this underutilized but extremely important area of sports performance enhancement. He also consults in the areas of eye injuries and prevention, refractive surgeries, contact lens, and prism interventions to not only improve an athlete’s performance, but to maximize safety considerations.
